Journey-Focused Planning

Plan trips around the driving experience, not just the destination.

Overview

Journey-Focused Planning shifts the focus from "where are you going" to "how are you getting there." Plan your trip around scenic drives, manageable driving days, and interesting stops along the way — not just the final campground.

Why it matters

For RVers, the journey IS the trip. A beautiful drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway or Pacific Coast Highway is worth planning around. Journey-focused planning helps you optimize the experience, not just minimize drive time.

How it works

Instead of only picking destinations and letting a GPS pick the fastest route, you plan each segment of the drive intentionally. Choose scenic routes, set preferred daily driving limits, add waypoints for attractions or rest stops, and build an itinerary where every day of driving is enjoyable.

When to use it

  • You want to take scenic routes instead of interstates
  • You prefer shorter driving days with interesting stops
  • You're planning a road trip where the drive matters as much as the destination
  • You want to match driving segments to your energy and comfort level
