Friends Can Assist Booking

Allow trusted friends to help secure campground reservations on your behalf when you can't be online.

Overview

Friends Can Assist Booking lets you designate trusted friends who can create, hold, or confirm campground reservations for you. When a popular site opens up and you're driving, out of cell range, or simply busy — a friend can grab it before it's gone.

Why it matters

Hot campground spots disappear in minutes. If a cancellation opens at a popular national park campground and you're in the middle of a driving day with no service, that spot is gone. With assist booking, your designated friend can act on your behalf and secure the reservation. You don't miss out just because you weren't staring at your phone.

How it works

From your settings, you grant specific friends "assist" permission. When a friend with assist permission sees an opportunity — a cancellation alert, a newly available site, or a deal you'd want — they can create a reservation entry on your behalf. You get notified immediately and can confirm or modify the booking. The friend can't see your payment details or make financial commitments — they're flagging and holding, not purchasing.

When to use it

  • Asking a friend to grab a site at a popular park if a cancellation comes through while you're driving
  • Letting your travel partner book sites from their phone while you handle the driving
  • Having a campground-savvy friend help fill gaps in your itinerary while you're offline
  • Enabling a friend to reserve adjacent sites for both of you at the same time
