Avoid Low Bridges

Routes automatically avoid bridges too low for your RV.

Overview

The routing engine automatically identifies and avoids bridges with insufficient clearance for your RV. Bridge heights are checked against your vehicle's total height — including any rooftop AC units, antennas, or cargo.

Why it matters

Hitting a low bridge is one of the most common and expensive RV accidents. Damage can total an RV and shut down a road for hours. Automatic bridge avoidance removes this risk entirely from your route planning.

How it works

When you enter your RV's height in your vehicle profile, every route calculation checks bridge clearances along the path. If a bridge is too low, the route is automatically rerouted to avoid it — with no extra steps on your part.

When to use it

  • You're driving a Class A motorhome or fifth wheel with significant height
  • You're traveling through urban areas or older highways with low overpasses
  • You've added rooftop accessories that increase your overall height
  • You're driving an unfamiliar route for the first time
