Segment Restructuring
Reorganize, split, and merge trip segments to balance driving days.
Overview
Segment Restructuring lets you reorganize your trip's driving segments after initial planning. Split a long day into two shorter ones, merge short hops into a single drive, or reorder stops — all without starting over.
Why it matters
First drafts of trip plans rarely survive contact with reality. You discover a long segment is too tiring, a short one is unnecessary, or stops are in the wrong order. Restructuring lets you refine without rebuilding.
How it works
Drag and drop segments to reorder them, split a segment by adding a midpoint stop, or merge consecutive short segments into one. Drive times and costs update automatically as you restructure.
When to use it
- A segment turns out to be longer than you're comfortable driving in one day
- You want to combine two short drives into one to free up an extra day
- You need to reorder stops based on campground availability or weather
- A friend suggests a detour and you need to restructure days around it
