Real-Time Collaboration
Live collaborative trip editing where multiple people can view and modify the same trip simultaneously.
Overview
Real-Time Collaboration lets multiple people work on the same trip at the same time. When someone adds a stop, moves a date, or leaves a note, everyone else sees the change instantly — no refreshing, no "did you see my update?" messages.
Why it matters
Trip planning with friends shouldn't feel like editing a shared Google Doc where you're constantly worried about overwriting each other's work. Real-time sync means you can sit on a phone call with your travel buddy, both have the trip open, and build the itinerary together without confusion.
How it works
When multiple users have the same shared trip open, changes propagate in real time via live data sync. You can see when friends are viewing the trip and what they're editing. Additions, deletions, and reordering of stops reflect immediately for all participants. The system handles conflict resolution if two people modify the same stop simultaneously.
When to use it
- Planning a trip together during a video call where both people are editing live
- Making last-minute changes to a group itinerary while everyone watches the updates
- Reviewing a friend's proposed stops and adding your own suggestions in real time
- Finalizing a caravan route with multiple contributors the night before departure
